If you can believe it, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are embarking on their fifth holiday season together. By now, the couple have created a few traditions for their little family, with at least one built around Gwen's three sons Kingston, 13, Zuma, 11, and Apollo, 5. All the parents out there (especially of little ones) may want to steal this idea!
"At our house, it's literally chaos," Blake Shelton told E! News of Christmas morning. "They have that moment when they run through the wrapping paper wall that she sets up every year. That's about the only thing that I think consistently happens." Yes, a wrapping paper wall. Genuis! For The Voice hosts, it's one piece of wrapping paper lost, but for kids, it's basically the circus. Chip and Joanna Gaines do the same thing for their kids each yeah, which they've talked about here.
Gwen offered more on the family's holiday routine. "Me and Blake will have, like, a tradition of always trying something new," she says. "[We] just look on the internet and find, like, a recipe, ‘That looks delicious. Let's try that!' You know?" Last year the pair prepared Timpano Dome, an Italian meaty pasta dish wrapped in a butter crust. "I wanted to do it again," Gwen reveals. "But he's like, ‘No, our tradition is not a tradition.' I was like, ‘Okay, let's move on.'" Psst... psst... try these top-rated Christmas recipes from Pinterest, Gwen!
Blake explains that every year with kids is a different narrative. "You know, one year, there will be a fight over a toy that the other ones didn't get. And the next year, they all get along." Well, anyone with kids (or siblings) can relate to that one.
If you do follow suit with Blake and Gwen's idea, you might want to make sure the wrapping paper the kids are bulldozing through isn't the pricey one! 😅 Do NOT give them the Friends wrapping paper or anything from Eddie Ross' gift wrap collection, for example.
