Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Kept Their Baby’s Birth a Secret for Two Months Because They Want Their Kids to Be Normal
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds kept the birth of their third kid a secret for so long.
In May, Blake surprised everyone when she stepped out on the Detective Pikachu red carpet with a baby bump.
No matter how hard the paparazzi might try, you’d be hard-pressed to find much of Blake Lively’s personal life splashed across headlines, unlike her iconic Gossip Girl character. Basically, Blake and Ryan Reynolds are really good at flying under the radar, which is probably how they managed to keep the birth of their third baby a secret for months now. As someone who must immediately tell every secret to my 16 closest friends, this is very inspiring.
Last week, outlets like People, Us Weekly, and E! confirmed that Blake and Ryan had already welcomed their third kid and the bb was “about 2 months old” already. At the moment, Blake and Ryan haven’t shared the name or sex of the baby, and it’s all an effort to make sure their kids are as normal as possible. Well, as normal as you can be when Blake and Ryan are your parents.
According to an Us Weekly source, the parents of three “do everything they can to make sure the kids have a normal upbringing.” They also live outside of New York City and away from the spotlight, where “Blake has a really great support system.”

And if you’re hoping that maybe the actors won’t be as private now that their baby is here, that’s going to be a hard no, because to them, exposing the kids to all the attention would be selfish. In a 2016 interview with Marie Claire, Blake said, “We want our kids to have the same normal life that we had. We don’t ever want to rob them of what we had, because we’d feel really selfish.”
