Blake Bortles stops man trying to steal his truck, wallet at team party in Jacksonville Beach

Blake Bortles and a pair of teammates stopped 18-year-old Joseph Horton from trying to rob Bortles’ truck and wallet Wednesday night according to a police report. Nobody was hurt in the ordeal, which occurred during a team house party in Jacksonville Beach.

Here’s what happened…

Bortles and several teammates were partying at offensive lineman Brandon Linder’s house when they noticed an uninvited guest roaming around the house, according to WJXT News 4 JAX. Bortles, Linder and offensive lineman Chris Reed stopped Horton inside the home, questioned him and called the police. When police arrived on scene, they questioned Horton, who said he was looking for a former girlfriend. But no one at the party recognized Horton.

Furthermore, police reviewed security camera footage and saw Horton trying to steal Bortles’ wallet (which was later found on the ground) and drive off in his Ford F-150, which was unlocked and had the keys inside, per TMZ. But the truck was blocked in, making an escape in the truck impossible.

Horton faces multiple charges…

Luckily, no one was hurt in this incident. Horton, who lives near Linder’s home, was arrested and charged with burglary, trespassing and grand theft.
