BLACKPINK's Jennie Shared Her Go-To Beauty Tip

Want to glow just like a BLACKPINK star? Jennie will tell you how. She shared one of her biggest beauty secrets for high-profile events, and there's zero makeup required.

Jennie revealed her essential pre-event routine while backstage at the Chanel Fall/Winter 2023-2024 show, and all you need to DIY it at home is a bucket and some ice. "What I like to do before a big event like this is get a bucket of ice and just ice my face before I get ready," she shared with i-D, miming how she plunges her face into the freezing water.

This is a super old, classic beauty trick to help tighten skin, reduce puffiness and redness, and boost your glow, though, in recent years, beauty enthusiasts have been more apt to ice roll their face with rollers and globes instead of the old "stick your face in a bucket" method.

Icy water, whether you're rolling it on your face or totally submerging your face in a bowl of frozen H2O, is super popular in Korean beauty techniques. In 2021, the K-beauty hack known as "Jamsu," which involves dipping your face in cold water after applying your base makeup, went viral on TikTok. You apply your foundation or tinted moisturizer, concealer, and contour as usual, then powder with translucent setting powder or baby powder. Once you've done that, submerge your face in a bowl of cold water for up to 30 seconds, pat dry, and apply your eye makeup and lip color as usual. Jamsu is supposed to better set and hydrate your makeup. Bella Hadid previously shared that she's a fan of the technique.

While Jennie always looks gorgeous, she did look particularly radiant at the Chanel show. Her skin was glowing, the perfect backdrop to her dark black eyeliner, white tweed jumpsuit, and chic braid. It may be time to start dunking my face in a bowl of ice on the regular!
