BLACKPINK’s Jennie Hung Out With Rihanna at a Fenty Beauty Party in South Korea

BLACKPINK and Rihanna have officially crossed paths and fans can’t contain their excitement.

On September 19, Rihanna was in the South Korean capital for the launch of Fenty Beauty at a new store and just so happened to have a very distinguished guest among her attendees: none other than BLACKPINK’s Jennie.

The duo linked up at Rihanna’s Fenty afterparty in Seoul and made sure to immortalize the momentous occasion with a pic. Photos (and videos) of the pair together started popping up on social media shortly after, sending BLINKs into a frenzy. “RIHANNA AND JENNIE OH MY GOD SOEJEOWKEKSKS,” a fan commented sharing snapshots of the two singers.

Jennie herself also seemed to be as ecstatic as BLINKs with the link-up. “Jennie lowkey freaking out when rihanna put her arm around her shoulder is sending me,” a fan commented on Twitter sharing Jennie’s precious reaction. “Find someone who looks at u the way Jennie looks at Rihanna,” another one added.

It turns out that Jennie being understandably starstruck (I mean, it is the Rihanna we’re talking about here) has deeper roots. Back in 2018, South China Morning Post reported that Rihanna has always been Jennie’s main inspiration. “My number one idol will always be Rihanna. She has everything I want to have,” Jennie reportedly told Elle Korea.

In fact, Jennie’s admiration for RiRi goes way back, as some devoted BLINKs noticed after seeing their interaction — as far back as her auditions for BLACKPINK’s mother company, YG Entertainment, in 2010. “Thinking about how jennie sang take a bow for her audition to get into YG and here she is, 9 years later as a member of one of the biggest groups in the world meeting Rihanna herself,” a BLINK pointed out on Twitter.

As expected, some fans are already wishful for a collab between the two; and while we might not know what Jennie and Rih’s talking points could’ve been during the small meetup, fans do have some pretty convincing guesses.
