Birthday Cake Pebbles Cereal Is Officially Heading To Stores This April

It’s been over four months since we heard that Post Consumer Brands was planning to release a Birthday Cake Pebbles cereal, and now the brand has confirmed it’s happening! Rolling out on shelves in April 2021, the new cereal is in celebration of Pebbles’ 50th birthday.
The new cereal is filled with blue, pink, and yellow pieces that taste like a classic vanilla birthday cake and frosting. So not only does it look worthy of a party, but it has the flavors to back it up. This officially means that cake gets a thumbs-up as a suitable breakfast, right?
“When it comes to birthdays, there’s nothing more iconic than a colorful cake,” Amy Brothers, PEBBLES cereal brand manager at Post Consumer Brands, said in a press release. “Our new Birthday Cake PEBBLES cereal is a fun and delicious twist on the traditional birthday cake, and is just one more way we’re celebrating with fans and keeping PEBBLES' 50th-birthday party going this year. Plus, all PEBBLES cereal varieties are gluten-free, so everyone can partake in the celebration.”
You’ll be able to get the limited-edition Birthday Cake Pebbles cereal in 10-ounce, 19-ounce, and 40-ounce boxes. They’ll hit retailers nationwide in April 2021 and will be available while supplies last. Who knows? Maybe you’ll like them even more than Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles — in which case, you better stock up.

From birthday cake-flavored waffles to cookie dough bites to Kit Kat bars, it’s clear that as a society, we’re nowhere near getting sick of the sweet flavor. Post Consumer Brands is the latest to jump in on the fun, because it’s rumored that it’ll be releasing Birthday Cake Pebbles cereal.
The news comes from Instagram account @markie_devo, who got the news and picture from a sales rep at Post, according to the caption. Although we don’t know what the cereal itself looks like, we can only assume that they have the same pebble shape, but with a birthday cake flavor. It certainly sounds like one way to turn breakfast into a celebration!
Since the packaging indicates that the new birthday cake flavor is in celebration of Pebbles’ 50th birthday, which would be in 2021, we should be finding the cereal on shelves next year. Plus, the box says “coming soon!” with a big pink bow on it, so fingers crossed we don’t have to wait too long into the year.
Now we can’t help but wonder what the cereal pieces look like. Will they be a neutral color with colorful specks? Or, since there’s so much pink detail on the box, will they mimic the hue? All we know is that if they’re anything like the Cupcake Pebbles cereal that came out in 2010, we’re in for a real treat.
