The Earth is round, and Billy Porter has never disappointed us on a red carpet: F-A-C-T-S.
Porter arrived at the Grammys on Sunday evening in a turquoise crystal-studded Scott Studenberg jumpsuit with glittering crystal fringe and a matching wide-brim hat made in collaboration with Sarah Sokol. Porter complemented the show-stopping ensemble with bling-y Alexis Bittar jewelry, including a shimmering choker and a bracelet designed to resemble a (very chic) spider. In total, the 2014 Grammy winner’s look accented by 70,000 crystals.
Now, photos alone don’t do the hat in question justice. The two tier fringe-bearing topper is motorized, meaning that the curtains of crystal can shift to either conceal or reveal Porter’s face — like such:

Porter confirmed our suspicions regarding the aim of the motorized curtain, telling Vanity Fair, “The crystal curtain stays open, unless you get on my nerves and then I can shut you right out!” The practicality!
