Billie Eilish unveiled a serious hair transformation last month, going from her signature black and green locks with a middle part to bright bleach blonde with a full fringe.
Any bottle blonde will be all too familiar with the colour struggles of going from dark to platinum, and it turns out even Billie faced that in between stage of patchy orange-ness.
After introducing her new blonde look to the world, Billie admitted that she'd actually been wearing wigs to keep it hidden for around two months, including at the 2021 Grammys.
Now Billie's revealed exactly why she kept her new lighter locks under wraps for so long.
During an Instagram Q&A, a fan asked the singer why she didn't share her new look with us sooner. "Cause it took six weeks to accomplish," she replied, alongside a photo for proof.
"This was the first round," she explained.
Fortunately, the multiple bleaching sessions didn't take too much of a toll on Billie's hair health. Another follower asked, "Does your hair feel healthy or damaged after the bleaching process?"
"Honestly so healthy and I wasn't expecting that at all," Billie replied. "It's actually healthier than it's been in a longggggggg time."

Billie's colourist Lisa Renn even enjoyed transitioning her hair from her famous dark and green tones to platinum blonde.
"The process is real when you're doing it right. 6 weeks to get all the black of of her ends without damaging it, along with her following my strict haircare regime. We actually loved all the stages of lifting the colour too," she told People.
Confirming our suspicions, Billie shared a selfie of her cradling the exact wig she wore at the Grammys, after being quizzed about if she really did rock fake hair that night.
