'Big Bang Theory’ Fans Are Totally Confused Over Mayim Bialik’s “Penny” Video

Mayim Bialik and her boyfriend Jonathan Cohen enjoy posting their life on social media to the excitement of many fans. But a recent development in their relationship left folks rather confused, as they thought it had to do with someone else entirely.

In a video posted on The Big Bang Theory star's Instagram, Mayim taught Jonathan how to play one of her beloved childhood games called "Hit the Penny." After placing a coin on the ground, she explained that they had to bounce a ball to each other while hitting the penny. Meanwhile, there was an imaginary line in front of them and whoever got the penny past it first won the game.

"You demanded it, so here it is," she captioned the clip on April 19. "Today I’m teaching Jonathan how to play 'Hit the Penny,' one of my favorite childhood games. I talked about it during our recent @bialikbreakdown episode with Max Greenfield @iammaxgreenfield and a bunch of you wanted to know how to play. Enjoy!"

While the Jeopardy! host's fanbase loved seeing her and her fellow Mayim Bialik's Breakdown podcast star in a different element, some called out that they thought the "penny" reference meant something completely different — Kaley Cuoco's character Penny.

"I thought it was the Penny from [The Big Bang Theory]," one person wrote in the Instagram comments section. "This is such an 'Amy' game to play. Love it 😂😂," a different fan added, talking about her character Amy Farrah Fowler. "Lol I thought you were going to throw the ball at Penny! Penny! Penny #tbbt," another follower replied.

As for who won the competition, the snippet cut off before a victor was declared. But their love of spontaneity is why fans adore seeing Mayim and Jonathan together outside of the podcast studio.

Now, if she can get Kaley to play a version of "Hit the Penny," that would be a game worth tuning into.
