When it comes to The Big Bang Theory, there are certain things that just make sense. There's Leonard (Johnny Galecki) falling in love with Penny (Kaley Cuoco). There's the dynamic duo of Howard (Simon Helberg) and Rajesh (Kunal Nayyar). But there's no better pairing than the love story of Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik).

Whether their characters debated scientific topics or disagreeing while filming a Fun With Flags segment, it was clear to fans just how palpable the chemistry was between Big Bang Theory cast members Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik. But their relationship wasn't just for the TV screens. The twosome continues to be close friends in real-life, and they've both spoken over the years about how they will always support one another. In fact, they currently work on another show together — Call Me Kat, which Jim produces and Mayim stars in.

2010: Jim and Mayim start working together on The Big Bang Theory

During the season 3 finale, fans met Mayim's character Amy Farrah Fowler for the first time. She was introduced after matching with Sheldon's profile that Howard and Raj created on a dating website. After being forced to meet, folks learn they have a lot of things in common.

In The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series, Jim actually revealed that Mayim was only meant to be in one episode and he fought to keep her on the show. "I know at the audition they said they needed a female version of Sheldon, basically, but that's untenable long-term," he said in an excerpt obtained by Entertainment Weekly. "There was no choice but to evolve the character. And at some point in season four — I don't know if something caused it or not — I remember saying to Todd, 'I will not let this character go without a fight.'"

2011: Jim opens up about working with Mayim

During a panel for San Diego Comic-Con in 2011, Jim opened up about what it's like to work with Mayim. While he does call her "truly the nerdiest person on our cast," he had nothing but love for his friend's quirks.

"You're the only one that can help with dialogue just off the top of your head," he said at the event.

2014: Jim nominates Mayim for the Ice Bucket Challenge

Back in 2014, it seemed like every celebrity was participating in the trend that raised awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Jim decided he would nominate a number of his close friends, which included dumping a bucket of ice water on himself and Mayim. Thankfully, she wasn't too mad about it, and they were able to joke about the moment later on.

2017: Mayim Bialik calls Jim Parsons her "Man Crush Monday"

In a sweet post shared on Twitter, Mayim gave her co-star a shoutout and said how much she enjoys to collaborate with him on The Big Bang Theory.

"If Amy could, she'd make Sheldon Cooper her #ManCrushMonday so I'll do it for her," she wrote. "Every day that I get to work with Jim Parsons is a great day! You're my #MCM, Jim!"

2017: Mayim attends Jim's wedding

As one of the few castmates in attendance, Mayim took to Instagram to celebrate her longtime friend's marriage to his boyfriend of many years, Todd Spiewak.

"What a wedding. Not a cell phone in sight," she wrote in May 2017. "Everyone was so present which sounds pretentious but it was truly powerful for us all to just want to be there fully. Todd and @therealjimparsons, you are so loved. Also: hands down, prettiest chupah ever. Seriously."

2018: Mayim talks about filming The Big Bang Theory wedding scene with Jim

Fans know that the season 11 finale was a big moment on the series, as Sheldon and Amy finally wed. Mayim opened up about the scene in a blog post, and she revealed how emotional filming was for her that day.

"The first time I read those lines, I got emotional for real," she wrote. "Because it is my job to embody this character and to feel what she feels. She is me and I am her, I suppose. I love Jim Parsons as my co-worker and friend. Although it’s sometimes hard to keep a straight face saying such lovey dovey things, there’s no one I would rather say them to than Jim."

2019: Jim and Mayim reveal what it was like to kiss for the first time on-screen

Folks might remember Sheldon and Amy's first kiss happening during a Valentine's Day train trip in the season 7 episode "The Locomotive Manipulation." While it was a sweet moment between the beloved characters, Jim and Mayim had different reactions about filming the scene.

"You had the flu," Mayim told Jim in an interview with the Hamilton Spectator. "You kept swishing around with Listerine or whatever to kill my germs," he replied, to which she corrected him: "Hydrogen peroxide ... You were sweating. You had a fever. You were very sick."

2021: Mayim reveals why she and Jim worked together so well on The Big Bang Theory

In an interview with Us Weekly, Mayim disclosed her thoughts on why she thought the pair's dynamic worked so well. Her reasoning: they're not overly emotional as performers.

"Jim and I had a lot of nice moments together on set and I think one of the things that worked so well for us as actor partners, and maybe as producing partners too, is that we’re not overly sentimental as humans, which I think is helpful," she told the outlet.

"It was helpful in our acting and also in the way we kind of processed ending a decade together," she concluded. Wow!
