The musical superstar is set to release her new visual album, Black Is King, on July 31. The project will be available to stream on Disney+, and is inspired by The Lion King movie of which Beyoncé was a very important part. Beyoncé served as writer, director, and executive producer on her new visual album.

Per Variety, Disney and Parkwood Entertainment said in a statement, "Black Is King is a celebratory memoir for the world on the Black experience." The statement continued, "The film is a story for the ages that informs and rebuilds the present. A reunion of cultures and shared generational beliefs. A story of how the people left most broken have an extraordinary gift and a purposeful future."

The "Halo" singer released a teaser trailer for Black Is King.

"These timeless lessons are revealed and reflected through Black voices of today, now sitting in their own power," the announcement continued. "Black Is King is an affirmation of a grand purpose, with lush visuals that celebrate Black resilience and culture. The film highlights the beauty of tradition and Black excellence."

Beyoncé recently dropped her latest single, "The Black Parade," on Juneteenth. She simultaneously launched an initiative to support Black-owned small businesses and draw attention to Black excellence.
