Beyoncé is the gift that keeps on giving. Between the Renaissance world tour, the release of the tour movie Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, and now a brand reveal, the Beyhive have not been able to catch a breath. Fans knew something was coming but details hadn't been shared until Bey dropped an Instagram teaser on February 7. The singer revealed that her haircare brand, Cécred, is on the way with a post captioned, "hair is sacred." The promo video shows a series of home movies projected onto a white sheet showing clips of a young Beyoncé with her mother Tina Knowles, as well as a shot of Bey walking through her mom's former hair salon 'Headliners' in Houston back in the '90s. "Obviously, I grew up in my mother's hair salon," Beyoncé can be heard saying in a video shared to Cécred's official Instagram captioned, "the rumors are true."
Launching on February 20 via Cécred's website, the first brand teasers show shots of women shampooing and styling their hair which suggests that shower and styling products will be available, although the brand has not yet shared any intel about what will be on offer. From what we can gather from the videos, the line may be catered to a diverse range of hair textures and curl types. There is plenty of healthy competition in the hair care market, but Beyoncé's hair is such an admired aspect of her celebrity that we have no doubt everyone is curious for any insight on what her beauty secrets are.
Beyoncé has been very casually dropping hints that a hair brand was on the horizon over the past year. In 2023, her then unnamed, hair care brand invited beauty influencers like Bretman Rock to watch her birthday show and attend the LA premiere of the Renaissance tour movie. She also posted a mirror pic to Instagram in May 2023, wearing what appeared to be her natural hair, with some labelled bottles sitting on her dressing table which got the Beyhive wondering what was in store. For now, the social media teaser and brand name reveal will hold us until the first products launch later this month.
