Over the weekend, news broke that Hollywood power couple Beyoncé and Jay Z had bought a new home for a whopping $200 million, making it the most expensive home ever sold in California, per TMZ. Even more impressive, the transaction also marks the second-most expensive home in the entire country. Talk about history in the making! Plus, the music powerhouses paid cash for the property. We can even imagine what $200 million looks like in cash… It must be mountains and mountains of it, right?
The Carters’ new home, which was originally listed for even higher at $295 million, covers 8 acres of land and has unobstructed ocean views of a gorgeous beach in Malibu, Dirt reports. The home itself, which covers 40,000 square feet, was completed back in 2014.
As for specific features of the home, details are still hard to find. According to some aerial shots, however, the property has two giant outdoor pools, a tanning area beside the main pool, and an enormous backyard.
The home’s minimalistic essence, however, is evident just in a few glimpses. According to Dirt, concrete is heavily used throughout the home. According to contractors, over 30,000 square feet of concrete were used throughout the house, driveway, and motorcourt.
