With one of the largest music festivals in her wake, Beyoncé put herself under strict dietary restrictions to get prepared for performing at Coachella this year.
For Beyoncé, that meant she had a small list of foods to choose from to eat.
"In order for me to meet my goal, I'm limiting myself to no bread, no carbs, no sugar, no dairy, no meat, no fish, no alcohol," Beyoncé said in her recently debuted documentary, Homecoming: A Film By Beyoncé. "And I'm hungry."
The superstar singer didn't have a name for her diet, but it seems in line with a vegan ketogenic diet, which is focused on moderate protein, high fats, and low carbs, according to Healthline.
After having twins, the process to get physically fit again was a bit of a challenge for the star—but she wasn't going to let it stop her.
"It's my first time back home on the stage after giving birth. I'm creating my own homecoming and it's hard," she said in the documentary. "There were days that I thought I'd never be the same, I'd never be the same physically, my strength and endurance would never be the same."
This is not the first time that Beyoncé has experimented with her diet. She has been known to eat mostly vegan, and recently, she and her husband Jay-Z encouraged fans to commit to going vegan for the chance to win free concert tickets for 30 years.
Many fans hopped onto Twitter after the documentary premiered to show their concern about the drastic diet that Beyoncé followed ahead of Coachella. They provided sound advice: to always check with your doctor before trying such a drastic diet.
"I have ZERO negative things to say about Beyoncé but I want to remind folks that you don't need to be a certain size to be beautiful or to be good at dancing and that Bey has a private chef to ensure she gets the nutrients she needs and you should not try that diet at home," one fan reminded others.
