  • Beyoncé took to Instagram to inspire her followers to continue fighting for justice in George Floyd.

  • Beyoncé previously asked her followers to sign a petition to demand all officers involved in the killing of George Floyd to be charged.

After a week of protests around the country to bring justice for the killing of George Floyd, there has finally been some real action—Derek Chauvin, the officer who ended George’s life, is now being charged with second degree murder. The three officers who watched—Thomas Lane, J. Alexander Kueng, and Tou Thao—are now being charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder and manslaughter. Justice is slowly but surely being served, but Beyoncé doesn’t want protesters to stop here.

“The world came together for George Floyd,” she wrote, along with an aerial shot showing the thousands of protesters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where George Floyd was killed. “We know there is a long road ahead. Let’s remain aligned and focused in our call for real justice.”

Beyoncé first spoke about the issue on her Instagram five days ago, where she voiced her opinion on the current state of events and called for her followers to sign the petition to demand more charges in George Floyd's murder case.

“We all witnessed his murder in broad daylight. We’re broken and we’re disgusted. We cannot normalize this pain,” Beyoncé said. “I’m not only speaking to people of color. If you’re white, Black, brown, or anything in between, I’m sure you feel hopeless about the racism going on in America right now. No more senseless killings of human beings. No more seeing people of color as less than human. We can no longer look away. George is all of our family and humanity. He is our family because he is a fellow American.”
