  • Celebrate Betty White’s 100th birthday with a special one-day movie event in theaters across the country.

  • The celebration will take place on January 17 and include interviews with White’s famous friends, clips from her work, and never-before-seen footage.

  • White celebrated her 99th birthday in 2021 in a low-key way due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s almost Betty White’s 100th birthday! The iconic actress was born on January 17, 1922, and January 2022 is quickly approaching. We know–it’s hard to believe The Proposal star is hitting such a major milestone. To mark reaching a century (!) she wanted to celebrate big and invite fans to join in on the fun.

For one day only, White is celebrating her 100th birthday on the big screen and is encouraging fans to celebrate alongside her (with a mask in tow). The 99-year-old actress announced on her Instagram that fans can honor White’s major birthday by hitting the movie theater and reliving the star’s life and career with a cast of familiar faces.

“I’m going BIG for my birthday—right to the BIG SCREEN!” White captioned the photo, inviting followers to click the link on her Instagram profile to purchase tickets to her on-screen bash.

The movie, titled Betty White: 100 Years Young, will screen for one day only with a run time of one hour and 40 minutes. Fans can snag tickets online now for multiple January 17th screenings across the country. Grab your popcorn, because ticketholders will get the opportunity to reminisce with White and watch some of her best small-screen moments, like her run on The Golden Girls, hosting Saturday Night Live, The Proposal, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and more.

Check out a celebratory preview online when you go to purchase your tickets. The clip includes an inside look at some of the scenes viewers can expect to see during the screening, and White herself invites fans to join in on the fun. “Hello, I’m Betty White. I feel very fortunate to have had as great a career as I had for as long as I’ve had,” White says in the movie’s preview.

And White has some surprises in store for the screening. The Mary Tyler Moore Show star has some never-before-seen videos she wants to share in honor of the big day. According to the ticketing website, the show also includes “a lost episode from Betty’s first sitcom” and “inside stories of her amazing life and career.”

Plus, the party includes celebratory wishes and interviews with White’s star-studded friends and co-stars like Ryan Reynolds, Tina Fey, Robert Redford, Lin Manuel-Miranda, Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Carol Burnett, Jimmy Kimmel, Valerie Bertinelli, and Jennifer Love Hewitt, to name a few. Each has the opportunity to share stories, memories, and well wishes for the birthday gal.

For her 99th Birthday, White revealed her secrets for a long life, and her low-key birthday plans due to the coronavirus pandemic. The iconic comedian revealed she planned to visit close family and friends and bring food to her animals once things were safer to do so.

“I am blessed with good health,” she told People, “so turning 99 is no different than turning 98.”

The Golden Girls star attributed her long and healthy life to good genetics, staying active, treating herself to foods she loves, a good sense of humor, and keeping busy. We can’t wait to wish White a very happy birthday in just a few weeks!
