Last week, Disney confirmed the news that many, many movie fans had been waiting 26 years to hear, as the studio announced that a Hocus Pocus sequel was indeed coming to Disney+.

But amidst this celebration, Hocus Pocus die-hards were left slightly concerned that the studio didn’t use this opportunity to confirm that the 1993 film’s original stars - Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker - would all be returning, too.

Entertainment Tonight recently had the chance to ask Midler that very question at her annual Hulaween gala in New York City.

"Oh my goodness me. Oh I hope they get to me before I'm a corpse," quipped Midler. “We wanna fly again. I hope Disney+ is a big success and I hope we get to do it, because [Winifred] is of course one of my favorite characters."

"I mean she's, in the zeitgeist," Midler continued. "I have met people -- I've met grownup people, like 40-year-olds, 50-year-olds -- who say, 'Oh I remember that! Hocus Pocus! I was brought up on that.' It's so mortifying 'cause I still look 35."

At this point, though, all Midler could say about her potential involvement in a Hocus Pocus sequel was, “I can’t wait to read the script. We’re gonna see what happens.”

Midler also admitted that whenever she gets together with her former Hocus Pocus co-stars they inevitably end up discussing potential plots for a follow-up.

"We actually talk about it whenever we see each other," Midler revealed. "We laugh, we say, 'Oh, wouldn't it be great if?' Because all of us had pretty much the same experience on it."

Fingers crossed they’ll get to put those words and thoughts into action when further details on Hocus Pocus 2 are revealed.
