Once upon a time, New Englanders had to trek to West Concord, Massachusetts, for a taste of the region’s supreme farm-to-table ingenuity, Wood Hills Table, and all of its organic, sustainably harvested, pasture-raised, homegrown excess. But with the opening of Wood Hills Pier 4
in November 2019, foodies need go no further than Boston
’s booming Seaport District
for innovative creations by chef Charlie Foster, who uses grass-fed meats, raw dairy, cheese, fresh herbs, honey, and delectable produce from restaurant owner Kristin Canty’s private farm to produce gastronomic magic. Plenty of sustainable, ocean-to-table riches are also thrown into the mix, including Rhode Island whelk dressed in a coconut lobster broth and Foster’s take on Lobster Newburg in a lobster coral hollandaise sauce. All this to say, if there’s one new restaurant to try in New England, this is it.
