Fall and winter sports are taking center stage in the U.S. now that America's pastime has wrapped for the year.

Action in the NFL is heating up as we continue through the second half of the season with the playoffs always looming. Unfortunately, another major star went down this week: Richard Sherman ruptured his Achilles tendon, spurring backlash about Thursday night games.

Elsewhere in the world, soccer and golf continue to captivate fans -- including some furry ones who stopped by the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa on Tuesday.
