WATCH: How to Travel in Comfort and Style

No matter where I go — beach or mountain, hot or cold, plane or train — I have one travel outfit. Yes, one. This go-to outfit has given me one less thing to worry about before traveling, and I love it!

These are the staple items you need to always travel comfortably and look good while doing it:

Shirt

You can never go wrong with a simple white button-down shirt or a basic white T-shirt. Nothing more, nothing less. It keeps you looking fresh and clean, and it goes with anything!

Pants

No matter where you are going, odds are you are going to be sitting down for at least a while. Make sure you choose pants that are soft, flexible, and comfortable.

Don’t go reaching for your tightest pair of jeans! Oh, and don’t reach for those pajama pants, either. Loose, soft-fabric pants will always do the trick.

Jacket

There are three requirements for the perfect travel jacket: comfortable, lightweight, and a neutral color. Easy. The best part is, I always end up using the same jacket every day during my trip! It works for every type of weather, and it matches all my other items.

Accessories

Yes, less is more. But sometimes, especially if you are going to a colder destination, you will want to layer up. A trusty scarf is a must — it can be used for warming you up, as a pillow, or even as a sleep mask!

Also, a belt is always a good choice if you aren’t traveling by plane. Comfort over style, but a little style never hurts.

Shoes

Travel shoes should be comfortable, lightweight, and easy to take on and off. Shoes that have zippers are always the best option.

Do not reach for those huge heels or those open-toe sandals! You don’t want to end up with a broken toe if luggage falls on your feet.

The key is to keep it simple, comfortable, and effortless.
