Awards ceremonies are always a great time for pop culture moments, and this years Oscars ceremony was a real gem. From Billie Eilish instantly becoming a meme, to Eminem's very confusing performance, there was a lot to enjoy about last nights Academy Awards.

But if you're anything like as invested as me, your favourite moments will always be what's going on behind the scenes - celebrities in their natural habitat, just being famous and doing things. Fascinating.

Let's start with the preparation. The nice thing about this is that looking red-carpet-ready is a full mission, so not only does that bring us lots of getting-ready-content, but it's also the reassuring fact that they don't all look like this all the time - it takes an army.

First up, Florence Pugh began her day prepping with a sheet mask.

Meanwhile, Olivia Coleman's hair stylist dropped a very cryptic story yesterday morning, which of course turned out to be the making of Coleman's stunning bleach blonde crop. I don't know what I like more, Olivia Coleman blonde or the sheer balls on a person who bleaches their hair with absolutely no time to spare if something goes wrong. Snaps.

Mindy Kaling also invited us into her getting ready process which was taking place in what looks like the kind of walk in wardrobe only a Sim can dream of.

Oh and remember how I said it takes an army? Here's a literal team of people working on Florence Pugh's look from boyfriend Zach Braff's Instagram story.

Speaking of Zach Braff, he also shared his little reminder to Florence to remember her tickets by sticking them to the front door. Obvs she wouldn't have got in without them.

Next up, transport - which is surprisingly tricky on awards night.

Mindy Kaling had to hire a specific minivan so she could stand up for the whole journey, to stop her dress from creasing.

Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian's dress was so tight she had to lie down for the whole journey. While Kanye put on some sunglasses and stared out of the window...

It's at the after party where it gets really exciting. But before that, look at Cheer's Jerry Harris meeting Billie Eilish. It's the purest thing you've ever seen.

There was a lot of fan-girling generally, in fact. Josh Gad and Billie Eilish were very excited to meet each other (can't wait for that Eilish x Olaf collab).

Meanwhile, Tyrese Gibson apparently had a real moment when he met Renée Zellweger. Here he is, literally bowing to her.

Marilyn Manson was also knocking about, greeting celebrities without a smile. Here he is meeting Games of Thrones' Pedro Pascal in a confusing mash-up.

Here's Queer Eye's Tan France and Beanie Feldstein sharing a tender moment.

And finally, because we do not deserve her, here are some pictures of Greta Gerwig having the absolute time of her life at the after party.
