Whether you've been part of the Cumberb*tches since day one, were an avid fan of Sherlock, or just watched The Power of the Dog on Netflix, chances are you probably know who Benedict Cumberbatch is. But, do you know his super-talented other half, Sophie Hunter?

The couple has been married since 2015, but don't sweat if you didn't know that, it's probably because they keep things superrrr low-key—no Megan Fox and MGK red carpet makeout sessions here. But Sophie and Benedict have been looking super glam on the red carpet lately at the premieres of The Power of the Dog and Marvel's Spider-Man: No Way Home, and chances are they will continue to do so through awards szn (which is coming up soon, FYI!!). So it's probably time to get to know Sophie Hunter a little better, because besides looking incredibly gorg next her hubby, she's also a successful theatre director, musician, and actress too!! Here's everything to know about Sophie and her marriage to Benedict Cumberbatch...

Sophie is a big-time theatre director

Sophie has directed a ton of plays in both the US and the UK. She made her directorial debut in 2007, co-directing The Terrific Electric at the Barbican Pit in London. Since then, she's been the director for a long list of major theatre productions, including Ghosts, Lucretia, and Phaedra. Oh, and she also co-founded the Lacuna Theatre Company and served as a director at the Royal Court Theatre in London's West End. V casual.

Benedict isn't the only one with acting skills in this relationship. Though she's now focused on directing at this point in her career, Sophie used to act as well. You may have spotted her playing opposite Reese Witherspoon in 2004's Vanity Fair. She's also appeared in TV series including Torchwood, Midsomer Murders, and Henry VIII: Mind of a Tyrant (she played Anne Boleyn!).

As for her theatre roles, she's starred in this little play, maybe you've heard of it, it's called Hamlet. Oh, and she also acted in a production of Macbeth in 2008.

She's recorded albums in French and English

As if she weren't busy enough with her theatre career, Sophie's also a musician. She recorded a French-language album called The Isis Project in 2009, and then in 2011, she recorded an English-language album called Songs for a Boy.

Sophie and Benedict first met on a movie set in 2009

Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter met on the set of the film Burlesque Fairytales back in 2009. But at the time, he was dating actress Olivia Poulet, so he and Sophie were likely just friends for a while in the beginning.

The couple has been suuuuper private about their relationship, so it's anyone's guess when they actually got together. But here's what we do know: 2014 was a big year for the couple. First, they made their first public appearance together as a couple while attending the 2014 US Open. Benedict then took Sophie to his friend's wedding later that year, and she also attended the premiere of his movie The Imitation Game in November 2014.

They announced their engagement in the Times in 2014

Like everything this couple does, their engagement announcement was super low-key. No splashy ring pics or filling a whole beach with roses (we see u, Kravis). Instead, they announced it with a tiny blurb in the marriage section of the British newspaper The Times.

Benedict reportedly flew to Edinburgh a few weeks before popping the question to ask Sophie's mom for permission, which I have to say is kinda cute.

They got married on Valentine's Day 2015

Okay, this is adorable?? They tied the knot on February 14, 2015 with a small ceremony at the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Mottistone, a village on the Isle of Wight in England. Their reception took place at the nearby Mottistone Manor. According to People, the venue was especially significant for Sophie, as she is related to the family who previously owned the manor.

Per Vogue, Sophie wore a lacy silver-grey Valentino gown with a high victorian neckline, long sleeves, and an empire waistline. She also wore a velvet cape (hey, February in England is *chilly*) and custom-made Manolo Blahnik shoes. Very chic.

They have three sons together

In June 2015, Sophie and Benedict welcomed their first son Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch. A couple of years later, they had another son, who they named Hal Auden. Their third son, Finn, was born in January 2019.

But the couple also keeps their family life very private. In an interview on SiriusXM, he confirmed that he has three children, but then quickly added, "we don't talk about [our kids] on the radio."

So instead, we'll just have to ogle over pics of Sophie and Benedict looking extremely gorg on the red carpet instead...
