After watching Sunday night's Golden Globes, it is impossible to overstate just how different the ceremony was due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Perhaps no one summed up the changes of the last year better than Ben Stiller, who took to the podium and took a huge bite of banana bread while bragging about having read one book.

The actor was presenting the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical, or Comedy, when he took to the stage (in person, though many people "attended" the ceremony virtually) and began to sum up how he's grown over the last year.

"It's hard to believe that it's been a full year since the last Golden Globes, but like many of us, I've used that time to really look inward and grow. I've come to fully understand the nature of cryptocurrency. I read a book. I finally got around to dyeing my hair gray," he joked.

While all of those are no doubt great (fake) accomplishments, people couldn't get enough of the next moment, when Ben bragged about, like many of us, baking banana bread during quarantine. While some of us have had rotting bananas sitting in our freezer for the past few months, long since abandoning the trend, Ben is apparently a banana bread master, as he whipped out a full-size Golden Globe award made of the baked good. In case you doubted his commitment, he then proceeded to take a big bite.

While we have a sneaking suspicion he didn't make that perfectly crafted banana bread, you have to commend his commitment to this deeply weird bit! His face afterward signaled that maybe it was a little dry but let's be honest...it looked KIND OF GOOD? Like, that is a perfectly browned banana bread, and I too would take a bite. Am I losing it? Maybe! Am I finally going to take those bananas out of my freezer? Also maybe!
