Ben Affleck's New Dunkin' Commercial Is... Meta?!Dunkin'

Once again, Ben Affleck has proved to be Dunkin Donuts' biggest fan—but are they his? In his latest commercial for the Boston staple, the actor, and director of Air, approaches Dunkin' employees with an idea for its latest campaign... only to be mistaken for another famous Bostonian.

The cheeky video, which debuted Monday morning, features a conversation between Affleck and two Dunkin' Employees. “I’m here for the Dunkin Run Campaign commercial,” Affleck proudly announces. “I thought it’d be like authentic and meta, yes I’m doing the commercial... but am I doing the commercial? You know, I don’t do commercials I’m a real actor. This an art form for me,” he says. Then the employees ask, “Were you in The Departed?” Apparently, being one of Hollywood's leading men doesn’t score you any bonus points at Dunkin'—especially when Matt Damon is just as popular at the joint.

From there, Affleck trades barbs with the workers, joking about Damon's acting abilities. “I love him,” they exclaim while Affleck shakes his head. Affleck offers that “some of his work” is good, before another employee quips, “he’s got a really consistent career, I think.” Affleck appears perturbed by their analysis—but don’t worry, there’s no bad blood between the two stars. Affleck and Damon are longtime pals, of course. Most recently, they worked together on Air, which hits theaters this weekend.

Affleck reportedly conceived and directed Dunkin’s new commercial, so it’s safe to say it was all in good fun. We'll keep an eye out for your next Dunkin' commercial, Ben.
