Behr Just Launched an Eco-Friendly Paint Can

Behr just announced the launch of its eco-friendly paint can design, and the brand-new product promises to make painting your home easier than ever. The modern Behr Simple Pour, which will debut on the brand's Marquee Interior and Exterior Paint & Primer, requires no key or tools to open the container. The 100 percent recyclable design also includes an innovative plastic lid that helps eliminate extra mess and rust, resulting in paint that stays fresh for longer periods of time.

Creating an environmentally-friendly option is something Behr has been working towards for several years. "We've spent years experimenting to perfect this new design, making sure this revolutionary new can is both environmentally responsible and effective in alleviating common pain points in the painting process," said Jodi Allen, chief marketing officer at Behr, in a press release. "This new design will ensure do-it-yourselfers and pros alike can easily use and preserve Behr's high-quality products."

While it's definitely good for the planet, the new can is good for consumers, too. Unlike traditional offerings, this cutting-edge paint can will be sold with a resealable, recyclable plastic pour spout—most paint cans currently on the market require customers to pour product into a paint tray before using. When it's time to close your can, there's no need to look for a hammer and mallet. The twist cap makes resealing easy.

"DIY and professional customers alike will appreciate this new design that ensures a perfectly clean pour and easy, secure storage every time," said Chris Waits, merchandising vice president of The Home Depot, where the paint can will be exclusively offered. "The new lid also saves time and effort for customers due to the easy-to-remove, plastic screwcap—helping shoppers get in and out of the store and back to doing."
