After Bebe Rexha went viral for her candid Instagram about how some designers were refusing to dress her for the Grammys because she was a size 6/8, the singer fielded numerous offers from design houses. She ultimately arrived in a red ruffly gown at the Grammys ceremony tonight in Los Angeles. This is Rexha's first Grammys as a nominee; she's up for Best New Artist and Best Country Duo/Group Performance awards.
Before the ceremony, Rexha detailed on Instagram what happened when her team initially reached out to design houses to dress her for the show. “So I finally get nominated at the Grammys, and it’s like the coolest thing ever,” Rexha began. “And a lot of times artists will go and talk to designers, and they’ll make them custom dresses to walk the red carpet, right? Like, you go to any big designer. So I had my team hit out a lot of designers, and a lot of them do not want to dress me because I’m too big. Literally, like, I’m too big."
"If a size 6/8 is too big, then I don’t know what to tell you," she continued. "Then I don’t want to wear your fucking dresses because that’s crazy ‘cause you’re saying that all the women in the world that are a size 8 and up are not beautiful and they cannot wear your dresses. So to all the people who said I’m thick and I can’t wear your dresses, fuck you, I don’t want to wear your fucking dresses.”

Rexha told Variety shortly before the Grammys that she was trying to decide between a hot pink dress and a darker "red Marilyn Monroe" option, which she ultimately went with: "I have two options, and I’m gonna pick the one I feel like in the moment."
