Beauty Instagram Is Obsessed With Trader Joe’s $6 Blueberry Açaí Facial Scrub

Add it to your grocery list.

It's virtually impossible to leave Trader Joe's without a few impulse buys. Whether it's a pumpkin spice pancake mix or frozen vegan samosas, our favorite grocery store always seems to have a few yummy tricks up its sleeve. According to Instagram, in addition to that delicious cauliflower pizza crust, we should also be adding Trader Joe's beauty products to our grocery lists.

Super-popular beauty account Trendmood on Instagram is typically the arbiter of new product launches and sold out beauty collaborations. On Monday, the account deviated from its usual programming to plug a personal favorite skin-care product: Trader Joe's Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub.

"Well, now it became part of his routine...your hubby goes to pick up groceries from @traderjoes and comes back with a #FacialCleansingOil $6.99 (chamomile-scented) + Blueberry & Açaí #FacialScrub $5.99," they wrote. Unlike the hard-to-find and perpetually sold out products that Trendmood usually shouts out, the facial scrub has been available for years and is sold right in the grocery store's health and beauty section.

We're always appreciative of information about an affordable, high-achieving beauty product, but what makes us want to run straight to the grocery store is the comment section. Trendmooders are weighing in to fawn over the scrub with comments like "Don't talk about it I don't want them to sell out." Another commenter left an equally convincing argument: "That facial scrub is so good anyone who is spending high end money without trying the Trader Joe’s mask first is a FOOL like it also smells amazing." Others note that the scrub may be too harsh for sensitive skin, with one commenter writing "it's quite good but it does take 15 to 20 minutes for the redness to go down."

Even Trader Joe's itself describes the scrub as a hidden gem. According to their description, it has a sweet, blueberry scent that comes from blueberry purée and açaí fruit extract and also contains alpha-hydroxy acids for exfoliation and colloidal oatmeal to leave skin soft and smooth. The brand recommends using it two to three times per week.

The best part? Now we have an excuse to use "grocery shopping" as a euphemism for "buying even more beauty products." Just don't forget the pumpkin spice pancake mix.
