After a year and a half of renovations, Solaz, a Luxury Collection Resort, Los Cabos, welcomed back guests on Jan. 15. And the resort has plenty in store for returning guests.

The sprawling hotel, which occupies 34 beachfront acres along the Sea of Cortez shoreline, debuted property-wide upgrades, including the addition of 21 luxury suites, which brings the total number of guest rooms to 145, and a new dining and entertainment spot overlooking the ocean.

With wellness a major draw at the resort, guests can now book two dedicated wellness suites complete with a double-bed massage table, a steam room, and heated loungers. In addition, the Ojo de Liebre Spa, hailed as the only Thalasso therapy facility in Baja California, will continue to provide guests with the same range of amenities that made it a premium wellness destinations on the Baja coast — a Cryotherapy chamber, hot and ice-cold tubs, seawater, and freshwater pools, along with an extensive menu of wellness, detox, and beauty treatments. Unique spa offerings for men and pets (yes, pets) are also on the menu.

Another noteworthy addition to Solaz, a Luxury Collection Resort, Los Cabos, is Mako Beach, the beachfront outpost of the resort’s signature grill restaurant. The trendy spot will have a custom-made Airstream serving authentic Baja flavors and live DJ sessions entertaining beachgoers. The new venue joins six more dining spots at the resort, including Foresta, focusing on plant-based fare, the Italian Riccio di Mare, and fine-dining Al Pairo.

The resort will remain a major cultural hot spot, too. With more than 450 works by contemporary Mexican artist César López-Negrete, displayed throughout the property, and an on-site gallery showcasing regional artifacts, such as ancient maps and a 43-foot skeleton of a grey whale, art-loving guests will be mesmerized.
