Barb Isn’t to Blame for Peter Weber’s Breakup with Madison, According to the Bachelor

It’s been three days since Peter Weber and Madison Prewett announced that they’re breaking up…for good. And now, the 28-year-old pilot is opening up about the reason behind their split, claiming his mother, Barb, had nothing to do with it. *Eye roll*

It all started when Weber was confronted by a TMZ reporter, who asked if his mom influenced his decision to end things with Madison. The Bachelor alum immediately debunked rumors and admitted that Barb wasn’t involved whatsoever.

“No. This is stuff between Madi and I, solely, 100 percent,” he said. “And people have their opinions, but this is just between the two of us, and it’s just mutual respect and love. That’s all.”

The news comes shortly after Barb confronted Madison on national television during The Bachelor finale. Her harsh words were in response to Weber proposing to Hannah Ann, breaking up with her and then trying to re-pursue Madi against his family’s wishes. Shortly after the finale aired on ABC, Weber and Madison revealed that they’re calling it quits.

“Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further,” Weber captioned part of his Instagram post. “Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us. The love and respect I have for Madi will continue to endure.”

While many fans blamed Barb’s behavior for the breakup, maybe she was right after all when she said she knew it wouldn’t work out between Weber and Madi.
