All you need to step up your baking game is a roll of parchment paper! Not only can parchment paper be used to prevent batter from sticking to the sides of a pan, but it can be used to create lovely custom cake decorations that will leave your guests truly impressed. To level up your baking, try these parchment paper hacks!

Tools:

Parchment Paper Hack 1: Create the Perfect Cake Pan Liner

If you’re sick of all the measuring, cutting, and re-measuring that goes into making a circular cake pan liner, try this hack instead! All you need to do is fold a square piece of parchment paper in half twice. Then, fold it into a triangle twice and place the point of the triangle in the center of your cake pan. Cut the excess parchment paper from around the edge of the cake pan and unfold it. Your parchment paper should be the exact size and shape of the base of your cake pan!

Parchment Paper Hack 2: Make Homemade Piping Bags

No need to purchase piping bags! You can easily make your own with just a piece of parchment paper. Simply fold a square piece of parchment paper in half and cut down the crease so that you get two triangles of paper. Then, fold the edges of each piece of paper inward to form a cone. Fold down the pointed edges of the paper to seal the piping bag, then fill it with melted chocolate or the topping of your choice.

Parchment Paper Hack 3: Use Parchment Paper to Trace Illustrations

Use parchment paper as tracing paper to make decorating your cake significantly easier! Start by printing or drawing your text or illustration onto a piece of paper. Then, place a piece of parchment paper on top of the paper. The parchment paper should be transparent enough that you can see your original illustration through it. Then, use a homemade piping bag full of melted chocolate to trace your illustration onto the parchment paper and place it in the refrigerator until it sets.

Parchment Paper Hack 4: Create an Even Sprinkle Border

Wow your guests with your attention to detail by creating a perfectly even sprinkle border at the base of your cake! Simply wrap a piece of parchment paper around the cake so that an inch or two at the bottom is exposed. Then, pat sprinkles onto the cake with your hands and remove the parchment paper. You will be left with a perfectly even layer of sprinkles at the bottom of the cake.
