  • Chris rear-ended a tractor and fled the scene before police arrived.

  • A 66-year-old man died as a result.

Chris Soules, one of ABC's former Bachelors and a past Bachelorette contestant, accepted a probation offer for his involvement in a 2017 car crash that resulted in the death of a 66-year-old man.

On April 24, 2017, Chris was driving in Iowa when he rear-ended a tractor. After the accident, Chris called 911 and performed CPR on a farmer named Kenny Mosher. As the Associated Press previously reported, Chris waited for first responders to arrive, but he fled before the police arrived. Kenny died as a result of the crash.

Chris ultimately pleaded guilty for "leaving the scene of a serious injury accident" in May this year. There were reports that Chris would try to avoid going to prison altogether and have this wiped from his record if he pleaded guilty.

According to court documents obtained by outlets like Us Weekly, CBS, E! News, and reported on by the Des Moines Register, Chris reportedly accepted a suspended two-year prison sentence, which means he will serve two years probation. Also, Chris was ordered to pay a minimum fine of $625 and court costs.

As of now, a judge still has to formally approve the sentencing.
