If I had to choose one thing that won 2019, I would have to go with the Baby Yoda character from The Mandalorian. The moment his adorable face showed up on the screen, he was an instant hit. Memes were flowing, patterns for crocheting hit the internet, and restaurants and bars got in on the hype and made drinks. Now, Baby Yoda is coming to Build-A-Bear and that’s the most magical news I’ve heard all week.
“I’m excited to share we will be one of the first companies to provide the digital and internet phenomenon who is trending higher than all the presidential candidates combined,” Sharon Price John the Build-A-Bear CEO, said during a presentation on Tuesday at the ICR Conference in Orlando, Florida according to Business Insider.
“We now will have The Child, also known as Baby Yoda,” added John.
During the press conference, John held up a stuffed Baby Yoda, I’m assuming is their version of The Child, and it’s adorable and perfect. He didn’t give us a solid date for when we can expect the new offering to be available but will likely happen within the next few months.
“It’s great, again, to be in business with best-in-class partners,” John said. “We started this process almost with the first episode.” He went on to say that Disney and Lucasfilms worked with Build-A-near to make the Baby Yoda, aka The Child, happen.
Build-A-Bear has had several other successful partnerships, including others with Disney, Dreamworks, and Pokemon. I’m pretty convinced this one will be an instant hit, too.
