Hitting shelves next week is the Asics Japan S Platform model that’s designed specifically for women in a new white-based iteration. It features a low-cut upper that’s constructed with premium leather that’s contrasted by iridescent accents on the sides’ classic Asics stripe overlay panels. Completing the design is a thick platform sole.
According to Asics, the brand’s popular Japan S Platform silhouette was modeled after one of the brand’s classic basketball shoes that debuted in 1981. The shoe features court-specific design elements that reference the footwear worn by hoopers in the ’80s.
The latest iteration of the Asics Japan S Platform shoe will release at Asics.com and at select Asics retailers on Aug. 6. The shoe will come with a $70 price tag.
For fans who aren’t willing to wait for a pair, there are a few styles of the Asics Japan S Platform shoe available now via Asics’ website. This includes a set that is dressed in simple white-based iterations but paired with either black or mint green-colored overlay panels.
In addition to physical sneaker releases, Asics revealed this month that it’s dropping an NFT collection, which consists of nine different Asics virtual footwear products up for grabs.
