This Artist Is Selling Horrifying ‘Karen’ Masks, So You Can Win Halloween This Year
Halloween is the time of year to dress up as something cute, creative, or scary. If you’re aiming for the latter, there’s nothing that will hit home on the scary front this year than the “Karen” mask.
Jason Adcock, an artist and Etsy shop user, is really diving into our deepest fears with the Karen mask. If this is your first time on the internet and you’re not sure what significance that name holds, let us explain. A Karen is a slang term for someone who is angry, entitled, insufferable, and likes to create a scene when their reasoning is far from justified. No, you don’t need to be a woman to be a Karen, but the men who act that way are called a Kevin.
So how do you take all of the negative traits and turn them into a mask? Well, if we had to describe their looks, the manager-calling woman has a short, angled haircut with blonde locks that may or may not have chunky highlights. Plus, they have to obviously look like they’re yelling at someone. Trust us, it’s not good.

A photo of the mask began taking off on Instagram, and the good news is that you can actually buy it! Adcock has an Etsy shop where you can order it for $180 (remember, it’s handmade and bound to be the winning costume at any party). You can order one now, but be aware that the stock is already low, aka don’t procrastinate.
“2020 is the year of the KAREN!” the caption reads. “Scare all [your] friends with [your] big hair and narrow mind.”
The latex mask, which includes the hair, is sculpted, molded, and painted to bring Karen’s angry personality to life. Hey, you can’t expect to have good skin when you’re raging day in and day out.
