Art teacher to over see community project to be placed at Veterans Park

OAK HARBOR - Oak Harbor High School art teacher Elly Gilbert has been awarded a grant through SeverOHio for a community art project.

The grant will fund the creation of an art piece to adorn Veterans Park.

The project entails glazing tiles and assembling them into a larger creation, a task that will be undertaken with the help of volunteers from the community.

Public invited to participate in project

Oak Harbor High School's Art Department invites interested individuals to participate. No prior experience is necessary, and individuals of all ages are welcome to join.

Meet at the high school on May 22

A total of 110 tiles will be glazed, with 81 tiles being used in the final project. Participants are encouraged to arrive at 6 p.m. May 22 at the Oak Harbor High School cafeteria to take part in the collaborative effort.

Tiles will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, with each person eligible to work on one tile.
