But Ari’s boyfriend, Dalton Gomez, made an appearance too. If you blinked you might have missed the sweet moment. The singer shared some of her favorite images from the night in an Instagram gallery (where you can also get a better look at her gorgeous glam). “Thank u so much for having me @ladygaga i love u with all my heart always. u were so beyond brilliant tonight. so grateful to have been a part of this with u. & thank u again @mtv. 🖤 :),” she wrote in the caption.
If you click through to the final image, you’ll see Grande and Gomez holding hands as they walk out of the performance venue. Cue the collective “awwwwwws” because they really do seem very cute together.
Ariana Grande first officially confirmed her relationship with Gomez back in May, when he made an appearance in the video for “Stuck With U,” her song with Justin Bieber. “They run in the same circle,” a source told E! News in March. “He used to be a dancer and they have many mutual friends. She’s gotten to know him quickly with the quarantine. They’ve been spending a lot of one-on-one time at home.”
This relationship is definitely more low-key in terms of publicity than Grande’s romance with Pete Davidson, which dominated headlines for months. Of course, that may partly be due to the fact the quarantine is preventing many people from living their lives as normal.
Regardless, it’s great to see Grande seeming so happy in both her professional and personal lives at the moment. Fingers crossed we’ll see more cute moments with these two very soon.
