Ariana Grande to Headline Fortnite’s Virtual Rift Tour

Ariana Grande is teaming up with videogame Fortnite to bring to life a virtual concert experience on the platform. Announced on August 1, Ariana is slated to headline Fortnite’s in-game Rift Tour, which will take place from August 6 to August 8.

The Rift Tour is described as “a musical journey into magical new realities where Fortnite and Ariana Grande collide.” Ari opened up about her inclusion and the event to Fortnite’s parent company, Epic Games, saying, “Working with Epic and the Fortnite team to bring my music to life inside the game has been so fun and such an honor. I can’t wait to join my fans and see all of your reactions to such an unforgettable, magical journey to new realities.”

According to Epic Games, the Rift Tour will comprise five shows or “runs'' across three days to ensure fans around the world can tune in. Showtimes are scheduled for August 6 at 6 PM ET and August 7 at 2 PM ET, with the three remaining runs all taking place on August 8 at 12 AM, 10 AM, and 6 PM ET. Fortnite recommends tuning in an hour before the show’s start to enjoy the “Rift Tour Playlist” and various “Fortnite-themed experiences.”

Ariana isn’t the first superstar to team up with the uber-popular game for a virtual musical event. Back in 2019, Marshmello held the first-ever Fortnite concert and, in 2020, acts like Travis Scott and J Balvin followed suit. Though not quite a full concert, BTS also used Fortnite’s Party Royale stage to premiere the choreography-version music video of their hit single “Dynamite” last summer.

Ari’s venture into the Fornite world will also come with the exclusive arrival of Ari-themed items and skins, which will be available to users in the item shop starting August 4. Check out a sneak peek below:
