Ariana Grande Has Broken Her Silence Following Mac Miller's Death with Touching Photo

Ariana Grande has broken her silence following the sudden death of Mac Miller, her ex-boyfriend of two years. The rapper was found dead of an apparent overdose on Friday. He was 26.

On Saturday, after turning her Instagram comments off, the singer posted a black and white photo of her former love on the social media app. The snap of Miller looking up at the camera, as he casually lounges on the grass, was most likely taken by the "Side to Side" songstress (note the white sneakers in between his legs) when the pair were dating earlier this year. Without a caption, Grande let the poignant picture speak for itself.

“This is one of my best friends in the whole world and favorite people on the planet,” Grande wrote on an Instagram Story in May, shortly after their breakup. “I respect and adore him endlessly and am grateful to have him in my life in any form, at all times regardless of how our relationship changes or what the universe holds for each of us!”

Reacting to Grande's lightening-fast engagement to Pete Davidson at the beginning of the summer, Miller said he only had "positive energy."

“I am happy for her and [the fact that she’s] moving forward with her life, just as I’m sure she is with me.”

During the same interview, he also spoke out about his DUI arrest, which occurred just days after his breakup. “I have people that care about me and fans that love my music and it’s a beautiful relationship with them — people who have been with me through being a 19-year-old wide-eyed kid to being a self-destructive depressed drug user to making love music to all these different stages. Then they see something like that and they worry,” he said. “So your first reaction is, ‘Let me tell them I’m cool.'”

Miller released his latest album, Swimming, last month.
