Even if you’re fairly organized, hunting for seasonal decor is always a bit of a challenge. After months left untouched, you have to physically open every storage bin to truly know all that’s inside. Luckily, there’s an app called Elephant Trax that’s designed to make the storage-locating process easier.
TikToker @shadyysandyy shared how the organization app works, and people love the picture-based concept. To use it, you need to download the Elephant Trax app and buy the company’s pre-made labels on Amazon. Each label has a QR code on it. In the app, you can store photos of every item in a box. When you scan the QR code for a box, the app will quickly pull up those photos to show you what's inside.
While you could use a Sharpie to write directly on the box or tape a notecard to it, as a few TikTok commenters pointed out, this app method is more detailed. Instead of guessing what a description means or trying to scope out everything inside of a clear bin, you can quickly scroll through all of the items on your phone.
Currently, the Elephant Trax labels are not in stock. While we hope for a restock, the good news is there are a bunch of other apps with the same concept that have labels available right now through Amazon, like ToteScan’s 45-pack for $10.
FYI, if you love this idea and have storage space on your phone, you could also hack it. All you’d have to do is give each bin a name, take photos of everything in them, and make photo albums on your phone that correspond with each one. Just a thought if you want to DIY it!
