Smaller portions, no alcohol, and lots of water...
I think more Americans would understand diet if the articles were written in ounces and/or pounds.
I lost weight through the ghetto diet. The ghetto diet is simply not having enough money for food because of rent, bills, and loans and working 2 jobs and not having time to eat and not being able to eat due to lack of money. Therefore, no junk food, no fast food, no sugary drinks and the result was that I lost a lot of weight. No science, no gimmick, no fad, just hard real life struggles.
I used to drink protein drink every morning and that led to constipation so bad I thought I was having a stroke trying to take a dump.
Going vegetarian is a big missed steak.
Everything I eat turns to #$%$.

I'm 5'8 and 140lbs. I have around 10% body fat. My body requires at least 100g of protein per day for decent muscle growth. Forget these "experts"....each body is different. I also naturally burn around 2,500 calories per day due to high metabolism.
I try to stick to a 40% Protein, 40% Carbs and 20% fat diet. It is hard as a vegetarian who eats fish to do it but I try.
