If you’re looking for Blue Bloods spoilers, don’t bother asking Bridget Moynahan: She’s just as much in the dark as the rest of us.

The actress plays Erin Reagan, the opinionated lawyer and single mom who often goes head-to-head with her father, Frank (Tom Selleck) and brothers Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and Jamie (Will Estes). And though she seems to know all on the show, in real life, she’s never quite sure what the producers have in store for her fictional family.

“They don’t tell us anything, so we’re always surprised,” Moynahan tells CountryLiving.com. “We’re just as surprised as you guys.”

The addictive CBS crime drama has been dropping bombshells since its inception in 2010, but none more shocking than the exit of Amy Carlson-who played Danny's wife, Linda-in the season 8 premiere last year. Her untimely death in a helicopter accident left fans reeling, and wondering what shakeups to expect next. Though Moynahan can’t spill any major moments, there are some hints for the upcoming episodes she’s been able to surmise based on last year’s twists.

For one, her fingers are crossed for TV brother Jamie, who is now engaged to his partner, Eddie (Vanessa Ray). “I think people are looking forward to a wedding,” she says. “So hopefully that will happen.”

Moynahan says that fans will see Ray starting to fill the gap that Carlson left in the Reagan household, particularly during their now-famous weekly meals where the TV family gathers to catch up and debate whatever conflict has arisen in Manhattan that day.

“She’s such a vibrant charismatic woman, and such a pleasure to be working with,” Moynahan says of her co-star. “She’s bringing a new energy to the dinner scene.”

Moynahan's on-screen boss also met her end on last year’s finale, opening up an opportunity for someone new to challenge Erin at her high-stakes job-Samar "Sam" Chatwal, played by Aasif Mandvi.

“He is such a wonderful actor to play against, and it’s just always nice to have another strong personality coming through the DA’s office for me to banter and play these games with,” she says. “That’s been a really great addition for me."

Through the roller coaster ride that is the Reagan’s tumultuous careers, there’s one thing viewers can always count on to stay the same.

“The beauty about this show is that you can address some of the current affairs, but in a way that isn’t preachy,” she says. “It’s coming from a family that you feel familiar with and they each have a different point of view.”

Blue Bloods airs Fridays at 10:00 p.m. EST on CBS.
