Apartment hunter Cat is dreaming of finding a spot with top-notch amenities
On this episode of In The Know: Find My Dream Room, host Will Taylor (@brightbazaar) helps Cat find a spacious Brooklyn apartment for her and her boyfriend. Cat is seeking a large unit with features like a dishwasher, in-unit washer/dryer, and access to street parking, within a budget of under $3,000 a month. Can Will help Cat find the perfect first home for her and her boyfriend? Time to find out!
Apartment number one, aka “The Sanctuary Space,” is a one-bedroom unit in Bushwick with a monthly rent of $2,250. The space is flooded with natural light, and there’s even a private outdoor deck which Cat loves. The modern kitchen includes a dishwasher, and there’s also a washer and dryer in the unit, checking off two of Cat’s must-have amenities! The bedroom is also a nice size, with room for a desk to suit any WFH needs. Overall, “The Sanctuary Space” ticks a lot of boxes!
Next up is “The Railroad,” a one-bedroom unit in the heart of Williamsburg, renting for $2,400 a month. The railroad-style apartment features a dining space that can double as a home office, as well as a separate living room, providing plenty of space and privacy for the couple. The bedroom located at the end of the unit has a cozy feel and tons of natural light. The main draw of “The Railroad” is the prime location, but the unit lacks some of Cat’s top wants in terms of amenities.
Will’s third and final unit is “The One-Bed Flex,” a one-bedroom unit, also in Williamsburg, priced at $2,400 a month. Cat loves the spacious bedroom, which has room for both a desk and a couch. The modern kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, and the unit’s second room can easily function as a living room or home office. Plus, it’s located in one of Cat’s favorite neighborhoods, which makes the decision extra tough!
Three weeks later, Cat reveals that she and her boyfriend ended up going with “The Sanctuary Space.” Cat loves that the unit has plenty of space for her and her boyfriend, as well as the in-unit washer/dryer. Cat shares that the couple is so excited for their new adventure, and she’s thankful that Will was able to make it happen!
