Anya Hindmarch’s first ready-to-wear collection was one of the hot tickets for day three of London Fashion Week. Set in an incredible sci-fi space, the clothes (and a brand new bag style) mixed elements of the sixties with looks from the future.

Here’s all the biggest buzz from the designer’s SS17 ‘Circulus’ show.

The Scene: Guests crowded around a stark white circle, looking down into the futuristic space. All of a sudden, the stairs slid back to reveal Hindmarch’s clinical posse of girls. While models showed off their wares, a hovering blue UFO began to descend, appearing to swallow them at the finale.

The Takeaway: Models wore a variety of neoprene coats, from white lab-like designs to brighter pinks. Most looks featured geometric appliqués attached to sleeves or pockets, and were worn with furry emoji slides, dainty heels, or white sneakers.

And we need to mention the hair: Master hairstylist Sam McKnight styled the models’ locks into sleek ponytails, topped off by a neck and head scarf reminiscent of a bandage. Think of it as the modern-day equivalent of Nelly’s cheek Band-Aid.

Killer Bag: Hindmarch sent out mini glittered bags complete with furry hearts and flowers, along with monochrome Rubik’s Cube designs. She also revealed a brand new bag style for SS17: the Stack. With multiple compartments and zips, this is like buying five bags for the price of one. (Or that’s what you can tell your bank balance, anyway.)

Fried eggs, anyone? [Photo: Instagram/julie.gesyuk]

The Sell-Out: Furry fried egg slides may not sound overly appealing… but just wait ‘til these babies hit (and then fly off) the shelves.
