Remember that scene in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? That scene? You know, the one where Professor X, Captain Britain, and the rest of the Illuminati show up, only for Wanda Maximoff to (gruesomely) destroy them all?

Well, aside from John Krasinski's spaghettified Mr. Fantastic, no one got a worse shake than Anson Mount's Black Bolt. Wanda exploded the man's head from the inside out! If you think back to the depths of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mount's Black Bolt hails from ABC's short-lived Inhumans TV series—making his cameo just as surprising as anyone else sitting in those fancy high chairs. We recently caught up with Mount, following the season finale of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Of course, we asked him if the Doctor Strange antics led to a meeting with fellow Star Trek adventurer Patrick Stewart. You'll probably get a kick out of his answer:

No, he was actually not there! [Laughs] He was shooting Picard. That was a very interesting shoot because my role came up in the reshoots. As you can imagine, several of the actors were quite busy. Patrick was not there. Chiwetel [Ejiofor] was not there. Krasinski's contract wasn't even done. He wasn't there. We had actors playing those roles, knowing that they were going to either be substituting their shots or transplanting faces. I've never done anything quite like that, and I was in disbelief of how well it cut together.

Marvel, we love you, but is it too much to ask that actors share a room when they perform together? Pretty please? MCU fans, there's another reminder that Raimi patched together the Illuminati scene, to go along with Elizabeth Olsen's admission that she never met Krasinski while making the film. Anyway, Mount is an absolute delight as Star Trek's Captain Pike, so give Strange New Worlds a watch, if you haven't yet. It's probably your best bet at delivering justice for Black Bolt, at this point.
