A little more than two years after welcoming their second child, Anne Hathaway and her husband, Adam Shulman, haven't written off plans to potentially continue growing their family.

Becoming a parent was life-altering for the actor — as she explained in a recent interview with WSJ Magazine — and prompted emotional growth that's been valuable to her both as an individual and a mother.

"[I] didn't feel fully landed and fully here until I was a mom," she said, noting that the experience "made me want to be completely, on every level, true to my word ... and that meant stopping any nonsense that I had going on inside myself."

But Anne also shared her "complicated" feelings about pregnancy. "There's this tendency to portray getting pregnant, having kids, in one light, as if it's all positive," said the WeCrashed star.

"But I know from my own experience … it's so much more complicated than that," she continued. "When you find out that your pain is shared by others … I just feel that's helpful information to have, so I'm not isolated in my pain."

"I mean, what is there to be ashamed of?" she added. "This is grief, and that's a part of life."

These aren't the first candid comments about pregnancy we've heard from Anne. The Oscar winner, whose sons are now 5 and 2 years old, previously spoke about struggling with fertility issues and how bringing her kids into the world followed "painful" challenges while trying to conceive.

"For everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies," Anne wrote on Instagram back in 2019, captioning a post announcing that she and Adam were expecting another baby. "Sending you extra love."
