Anna Nicole Smith's Close Pal Missy Byrum Reveals Their Secret Marriage

A new bombshell has been revealed about Anna Nicole Smith's life.

The late model's friend Missy Byrum revealed to People that she and Smith were married.

Byrum said that she met Smith in the late '80s at a strip club and the two then became best friends. Over the years, their relationship turned into a romantic one.

She explained that when Smith had her son Daniel, Byrum would often help out with raising him. "Nicki was getting more dependent on me because I'm taking care of Daniel while she's gone. And then I'm traveling with her all the time and so we're together all the time," she divulged. "We became lovers, you know? And I mean real sober lovers—it was a conscious thing."

Byrum said that she and Smith decided they'd raise Daniel together. Smith proposed in 1993, though the ceremony wasn't legally officiated.

"I wore the rings. She wanted me to have a baby with her. But I always knew it wasn't ever going to work out. Because she was never, ever going to settle down with one person," explained Byrum.

The late multi-hyphenate's friend added that she was "not [Smith's] first female lover" and she "knew it would not last. [Smith] needed more love than any one human being could give her."

Smith was legally married twice. Her first marriage was to Billy Smith, who was the father of her son Daniel. They married in 1985 and divorced in 1993. Smith then infamously married 89-year-old billionaire J. Howard Marshall, who was 62 years her senior. He died a year into their marriage. Smith died on February 8, 2007 of an accidental drug overdose months after son Daniel's death.
