Labor Day Weekend is just around the corner…and you know what else is just a few days away? School for your children…dun-dun-dun! Some moms have been prepping for their kids to go back to school for weeks, while other moms aren’t even sure when the first day of school is.

Anna Faris is in the latter camp. “I think we have some books and some new outfits,” Faris told Prevention.com at an event for Clorox. “I should have started getting ready, but am I on top of that? Not really!”

Tell me that’s not the most relatable thing you’ve ever heard! Though Faris has yet to grab school supplies for her 7-year-old son, whom she shares with ex-husband Chris Pratt, the star does plan to put "something really funny in his lunch bag" so he knows that she's thinking about him.

Here's how Faris works to keep her and her family healthy, and her best parenting advice for fellow busy moms:

1. She gets her flu shot.

For this actress, getting sick is not an option. "I always get my flu shot every year," says Faris. "Because I work on the show Mom and I work all year round, it’s just too difficult to get sick." Taking precaution ahead of time is also her goal going into flu season. "It's important to me to do preventative care," she says.

2. She keeps her workspace clean...for the most part.

Though Faris "is not the tidiest person around," she says that a messy environment makes her feel stressed out. "Keeping my environment and workspace clean helps me and my son to be more productive," she says. "It just cleans your mind. I know that sounds lame, but I believe it!"

As a result, Faris teamed up with Clorox and DonorsChoose.org to provide Clorox wipes and tissues to schools so they can maintain a healthy learning environment for students.

"I have a bunch of family members—a bunch sounds like 20!—I have three family members that are educators, so this initiative is really important to me," Faris says. "I think creating a healthy, sanitary, and clean environment helps to promote creative productive workspace."

3. She stays active in a way that works for her schedule.

While some moms try to workout every morning, Faris opts for a more flexible routine. "It’s hard to make time for that, and I think all of us moms feel that way," she says. "It’s tough when you hear people talking about their diligent workout regimes—and I admire and envy them—but it’s tough to find the time."

That's why the actress gets creative with how she stays active. "I love to walk and hike," she says. "I don’t want to portray myself as someone that’s like ‘I hit the gym every day at 5:30’ cause it’s not like that and I definitely don’t!"

4. She doesn't stress over maintaining a healthy diet.

When I asked Faris if she following a healthy diet was important to her, she laughed and said "I wish I could say yes!"

She works on a show where she's "running around all day," so it's basically grab and go. "I eat a lot of turkey wraps and yogurt, and there are times in my life when eating feels like ‘I’m going to scarf down this chicken burrito’ and then there are times when I’m like okay I’m going to relish this spaghetti Bolognese," she says.

So, no, the star does not subscribe to a particular diet. "Maybe I should!" she says with a laugh. "I also don’t like to get too caught up in being overly strict with myself in any way."

5. She takes care of her skin.

Like all of us in 2019, Faris is a sucker for skincare products. "My bathroom looks like a sorority house. There’s so many products," she jokes. "I really need to throw some things out."

Though she loves to experiment with different moisturizers and serums, she said that she loves Tatcha products, in particular.

6. She remains grateful for her busy life.

Though being so busy can be completely overwhelming at times, Faris makes it work and always is thankful for all of her projects. Her CBS sitcom Mom has been renewed for two more seasons, and the star is stoked about it.

"I think you know it’s amazing we’re so fortunate we get two more seasons," she says. "I love working on the show and love working with Allison [Janney] and the whole cast. I'm so proud to be apart of a show that’s so comedic yet has very meaningful moments. I feel very grateful as my character would say, but I am. I’m so lucky."

As for what Mom fans can expect for upcoming seasons, she couldn't say too much, as her writers don't let her know what's going to happen ahead of the next episode. "My character is slowly becoming a lawyer I think. I’m still wondering if she will fall in love...I have no idea," she says.

Faris also hosts a popular podcast called Anna Faris Is Unqualified, in which she interviews fellow celebs and experts and offers advice on practically everything. "Doing the podcast has been so amazing, and I love that all of our guests take me by surprise in a unique way," she says. "It’s such an honor to host."

When asked who her dream guest would be, Faris said Michelle Obama is first in line. "But even then I feel like I would humiliate myself by trying to make her laugh and if she didn’t I would be terrified that she wouldn’t like me," Faris joked.

I guess we'll have to wait and see if the former FLOTUS makes a surprise appearance in the future!
