Zahara Jolie-Pitt is officially a Spelman girl!

In a sweet photo posted to Instagram on Sunday, mom Angelina Jolie shared the exciting news that her 17-year-old daughter, Zahara, will be attending Spelman College this fall.

In the photo, Zahara poses among a cohort of fellow Spelman students. The Eternals actress captioned the picture, "Zahara with her Spelman sisters! Congratulations to all new students starting this year. A very special place and an honor to have a family member as a new Spelman girl. #spelman #spelmancollege #spelmansisters #HBCU."

Zahara isn't the only Jolie-Pitt kid who has begun their journey into higher education. Back in 2019, Jolie's eldest, Maddox, left home to study biochemistry at Yonsei University in South Korea. The actress even helped him move into his dorm, interacting with his future classmates during the emotional drop-off.

Meanwhile, Zahara and Jolie have been busy championing the causes they're passionate about over the past year.

Back in December, the mother-daughter duo called on lawmakers in Washington, D.C., to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), which supports those affected by domestic abuse, sexual assault, or stalking. They made another trip to the capital in February, where Jolie gave an emotional speech about the importance of protecting domestic abuse survivors.

On Instagram, Jolie later credited Zahara for helping her behind the scenes. "Heading into the Senate’s introduction of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act, I’m grateful and humbled to join with dedicated advocates and legislators," she wrote. "I’m also glad to share in the advocacy with Zahara—and for her presence to calm my nerves before today’s press conference. #VAWA #VAWA4All #VAWA2022 #nervousmom #partnersinadvocacy."
