Angelina Jolie’s most memorable mom moments

Angelina Jolie turns 43 this week and is known for her ageless beauty…. As well as her award-winning career in Hollywood in front of and behind the camera. And her philanthropic work. (And yes, that high-profile relationship and split with Brad). But one of the things we love most about Angelina Jolie is that she’s a mother like no other. Jolie and ex-husband Brad Pitt have been co-parenting their six kids since the super-famous couple called it quits in 2016. Jolie adopted her first child, Maddox, in 2002 from Cambodia. Three years later, she and Pitt adopted daughter Zahara from Ethiopia. In 2006, she gave birth to daughter Shiloh. A year later, they adopted a son, Pax, and in 2008 Jolie welcomed twins Knox and Vivienne. The celebrity mom has credited her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, now deceased, for influencing her parenting style: “I talk to her often in my mind and try to think what she might say and how she might guide me.” Bertrand died in 2007 from ovarian and breast cancer. Jolie has tried to keep her kids away from the media frenzy. Now that they’re older, they’re enjoying the spotlight. “We’re really such a unit. Nobody in my life has ever stood by me more,” she said. In September 2017, the whole Jolie-Pitt bunch came out to support their mom at the Toronto International Film Festival. Maddox, 16; Pax, 14; Zahara, 13; Shiloh, 12; and 9-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne posed with Jolie at the red carpet event. Pax even got to go to the Golden Globes! In January, he looked dapper in his tux as he joined his mom for the star-studded affair. A month later, it was girls' night for Jolie and her daughters. Zahara and Shiloh were guests of honor at the Annie Awards — which celebrated the best animated films of the year — in Los Angeles. The Jolie-Pitt crew does their fair share of traveling too. They took a family trip to Paris, where they were all photographed at the Louvre. They’re currently in London, where Jolie is shooting her latest film, Disney’s Maleficent 2. Jolie’s return to the live-action Disney movie marks her first onscreen appearance since her 2015 role in By the Sea.
