Andrea Constand testifies at Bill Cosby’s retrial for the first time

Bill Cosby’s main accuser took the stand in the retrial of the actor and testified saying she was shocked, humiliated and “really confused” after he allegedly sexually assaulted her in early 2004. Andrea Constand informed the jury that she and Cosby met when he got in touch with her for sports information at Temple, where Cosby was an alum. Constant said she made it clear to Cosby that she was not interested in him when he made passes at her. She was not threatened by the actor and saw him more as a mentor and friend, so when he invited her to his home when she left her job at Temple she accepted. Cosby’s first trial came to an end in June when the jury could not agree upon a verdict after 50 hours of deliberations. Now he has a new jury that was selected last week. Constand is one of many women who accused the comedian of assaulting them, but her allegations are the focus. Just as Pennsylvania’s 12-year salute of limitations were about to expire charges were filed. The credibility of Constand’s accusations are already being challenged by Cosby’s new defense team.
